Substation Support Systems

Scope

The utility needed outdoor cable trestles and indoor trench covers for a 110 kV substation, all to its own standard rather than a catalogue design. Material traceability was a contractual requirement.

What we delivered

• Galvanised trestles with calculated load ratings for the utility’s cable weights.
• Trench covers with lifting handles and stainless fixings.
• Mill certificates and galvanising thickness reports for every batch.
• Factory acceptance testing witnessed by the utility’s inspectors.

Result

The substation was energised on the planned date, and the same trestle design has since been reused on two further substations for the same utility.
